Why Are We Still Suffering on Planes?

I see it so clearly now.

And honestly… I don’t understand why no one else does.

I see all those travelers still doing all these awkward, uncomfortable things on planes — straining our necks, leaning against cold walls, using U-shaped pillows that barely help, stuffing ridiculous hacks into endless hacks just for hopes of sleep through the flight.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

The solution is simple. It’s kind.

And I made it for me —tested by me for you.

My Hacks Worked Better ..But Still Lacking in One Thing

I never was one to drag one those bulky memory foam neck pillows through the airport. You know the kind — big, squishy, promises support, ends up either choking your neck or pushing your head forward so you wake up sore. I did my own hacks with my hoodie that worked so much better. But one thing they couldn’t do was keep my body upright and supported.  When my body slumped, my shoulders hurt. My neck always felt tight. And I just thought… maybe this is what economy class travel is supposed to feel like.

One Red-Eye Changed Everything

Until one day, something shifted.

A few days before a red-eye flight. I didn’t bring a pillow and the design came into my mind. How could it be this simple.  Just filled with my packed clothes and hugged it against my body and head. II actually slept. Not just nodded off — I rested. My body softened. My neck didn’t ache. I didn’t wake up wrecked.

And something clicked.

We’ve Been Doing Travel Comfort Backwards

It’s not about wrapping the neck. It’s not about squeezing support into one awkward shape.

It’s about working with the body. Supporting the places gravity pulls. Creating the sensation of lying down, even while sitting up.

That’s what Bolstie does.

It’s a travel pillow for neck pain — but not in the traditional way.

It’s a soft, washable tube that you fill with your own clothes. It molds to your body. It supports your shoulder, your neck, your spine — not just the back of your head. It creates space in your bag by using what you already packed. It fits in your personal item. It doesn’t push your head forward. It doesn’t trap heat. It doesn’t get in the way.

People ask me all the time, “Is that really your clothes inside?”

Yes. That’s the point. You’re already carrying what you need. Bolstie just transforms it into comfort.

And that’s why I made it.

Because suffering shouldn’t be a punish just because we fly economy. Now I hear 1st Class and Business made give you more room but not necessarily comfort and support.

Bolstie: The Swiss Army Multipurpose Travel Pillow

Now I use Bolstie every time I fly — not just for my neck, but for lumbar support, back relief, or a footrest under the seat. Sometimes I wear it like a sling. Sometimes I hug it. Sometimes I wedge it against the side wall when I do get the window seat.

And every time I use it, I see people watching. Flight attendants. Seatmates. Strangers at the gate.

“What is that thing?”

“How are you sleeping like that?”

“Where can I get one?”

I always smile.

Because I know that moment — the one where someone realizes travel doesn’t have to hurt. That there’s a smarter, softer way. This is great for me because I rather pack light and travel smarter every flight.

Bolstie is for anyone who:

✈️ Has neck pain on flights and needs real support

✈️ Overpacks but hates checking bags

✈️ Wants a travel pillow that fits in their personal item

✈️ Needs better sleep in economy class

✈️ Hates feeling stiff, sore, or foggy after flying

I didn’t create Bolstie to sell a product. I created it because I was tired of suffering through flights with aching necks and no rest. I knew there had to be a better way — one that didn’t rely on gimmicks or bulky foam or heat-trapping straps.

From frequent flyers to nervous travelers, Bolstie has become a quiet revolution in comfort. One flight at a time.

You Deserve to Fly Comfortably — Even in Economy

So if you’re still stuffing a sweater against the window, still waking up with your neck in pain, still wondering if there’s a better travel pillow for long flights

There is -- Bolstie

And I made it for us.

Sleep better. Pack smarter.

Fly with support that actually feels like a hug.

You deserve that — even in economy.
